Re: Reballing discussion and tips
You dount mention the sizze and pitch of the grid array you're thinking of dealing with. Magnification is a boon regardless.
Use the right stencil, make sure it's clean. Use quality solder paste and flux from someone like Amtech it will change the game. Lower air pressure helps the keep the balls from coagulating. Have patience and understand that there's gonna be failures to learn from.
If you lift pads when you're removing the chip you're not doomed per say but you're basically doomed.

Re: A1278 820-2565-A EMC 2554 Clean Bios
If it powers up and stays on as stated in your original post, the bios is not what you need to be concerned with it's not the issue. It could be anything . Whats the history here? Liquid damage? Dropped? etc.

Re: Asus X99 Over heating Capacitor
+ 1 for isopropyl dribbled in the area once it gets hot, 99% or 91% if you not available. 70% may even be fine but I would be weary. The thing is, once you find out which, if any component(s) is/are at fault you're looking at the task of identification and surface mount soldering. jst a thought

Shorted.. u9200 is suffering from the false reports filtered through corporate media's support for unfounded cock-suckery manifest as a modern day witch hunt.
Good Luck.. Honesty is no longer relevant to products sold in the U, fucking, Knighted States of European Acquiescence and blessings.

Re: Which ESR Meter - On a budget
I built the meter featured on this http://electronics-diy.com/esr-meter.php page and although ive not had the opportunity to compare it to any other meter hands-on it seems to do a decent job and it was quite cheap to source parts for.Re: Which ESR Meter - On a budget<br...rce parts for.Re: Which

Re: Analog meter
I would add not to bother with an analog meter that uses less than a 9v with 2 additional AA's- many times the purpose of using an analog meter is the ability to apply higher voltage needed to test certain transistors etc.

Re: Lines and noise on entire Syncmaster S24B300EL LED. T-con, Panel or...
Anybody? It's getting 5 volts from the logic board and the fuse is passing current. Theres a voltage regulator on the t-con outputting 3.3 and some IC's i haven't researched (very detailed description, i know)
Has anyone seen/managed to rectify an issue similar to this, if so... what was the nature of the problem? I plugged the logic board into a different panel and the picture was fine so it's definitely t-con/panel related, i just wonder if its a total wash or not.

Re: Lines and noise on entire Syncmaster S24B300EL LED. T-con, Panel or...
I imagine it would be possible to pull apart this extra 24" ccfl panel i have sitting here and use it's LCD with the LED's backlighting? they are both 30 pin connectors, i haven't looked at the datasheets yet.. what do you think?

Lines and noise on entire Syncmaster S24B300EL LED. T-con, Panel or...
Okay as you can see from the photos this one has some real non-sense making it extremely hard to play WOW and mine sweeper or anything at all. The viewing angle vertically is about 5 degrees, it's dim and this pattern is pervasive across the whole screen. The ESR on the caps checked out. I've not tested anything else. Any ideas?...
