Yeah I've played around with the E/F board ribbon cables. Seeing if I could find a way where no one else did. No luck. Lol. But I couldnt find any instances of people trying to re-attach this type so I thought I would ask. I'm still going to see if I can think of something. Now that I know it hasnt been successful before, I know that whatever I decide to attempt wont be a TERRIBLE idea. Perhaps I'll find 700 ways NOT to make a light bulb....

Well that sucks. Great tv besides the black stripe across the top. Ah well. I'll just let the kids use it for a gaming tv or put it in the bedroom. Thanks for your help.

The ribbon cable itself is in perfect shape. Just pulled off of the glass. So we are sure there is no way to re-fuse the ribbon to the panel?

I received this television from a gentleman with a faulty y-buffer. I replaced the buffer and the sustain because I already had the parts. No big deal.
The problem lies in the fact that the gentleman had attempted to work on the tv himself, without any idea of what he was doing. He managed to rip the top ribbon cable that connects the y-buffer to the panel itself, completely off of the panel, obviously causing a 2.5-3 inch horizontal black stripe across the top of the television. While he ripped it off, he somehow managed to do so without causing any visible damage whatsoever to...
