I will check to see if the tv glows tonight when it gets dark. I will also take some photos when there is no glare. I have replaced the x-main and y-main, as well as the x-buffer and y-buffer. I have swapped the boards in all configurations and it does not make any difference.

Got a Samsung PN50C550G1FXZA version NY02. It supposedly started with a black line across the bottom of the screen, then went completely black.

The unit still has sound, but no picture. I have replaced the X and Y buffer boards and main board, and the power supply board. Still doing the same thing.

I am wondering if the backlight is maybe not working? I also don't know how to test it with the "flashlight test", or if this even works.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hello I am new here and have a question. I am not a pro by any stretch, but I've done some repairs in the past. I have a vizio 42" LCD that I got for free. The guy says it just went dead one day. I pulled it apart and found 3 or 4 places on the bottom of the power supply board that indicate burned or bad components. I have found replacement boards, but would like to know what may have caused the issue. The caps look fine, but I have not tested. The burnt components look to be small components, not near caps. I will add some photos when I get to my pc.


Any help or things...
