Re: Samsung Ln46b610a5f Power Surge
I ordered the main board from shopjimmy.com. Hopefully that is the problem board. if not I am sure I will have more questions.
Thanks Again.

Re: Samsung Ln46b610a5f Power Surge
Looked at the shopjimmy.com board... shopjimmy says the part number is BN94-03141G and that is on the sticker, but BN41-01149b is still on the board.
I am assuming that the BN41-01149b is the "base" main board, but if Samsung changes/adds anything on that board they give it the new BN94 Number. Yes?No?

Re: Samsung Ln46b610a5f Power Surge
truep posted (#7) above that I should use the number on the sticker
sticker: BN94-03141G
Board: BN41-01149b
Are they the same? Which one should I use?

Re: Samsung Ln46b610a5f Power Surge
The part number for the main board is BN94-03141G. Did a Google search on the # found many sellers. Any advice on good/inexpensive/safe merchants.
Thank you very much for helping me. Much Appreciated.

Re: Samsung Ln46b610a5f Power Surge
I do have some voltage to the main board when the cable is connected but it is only 5v to the pin labeled SB (pin 3 I believe) on the power supply board.
None of the 13 volt pins have voltage

Disconnected the LVDS cable (the brown flat one) and it still did not power up.

Re: Samsung Ln46b610a5f Power Surge
When i disconnect the line running from the power supply to the main board (30 pin connector) the back light will turn on (the connector on the power supply is labeled CN801 , but on the main board its CN201). It is the 28 white with two black wires in the TVLayout.jpg above.
The back light connector is on the bottom right of pwrBoard.jpg and has 6 white and one black wire.

Re: Samsung Ln46b610a5f Power Surge
Or the power board could not handle the draw when the main board was connected

Re: Samsung Ln46b610a5f Power Surge
So your pretty sure it is the main board. I just wanted a more expert opinion then my own (I Also thought it was the main board).
I just found it interesting that the power board would supply the proper voltages when the main board is disconnected, but when the main board was reconnected it would loose the voltages. Seems like some signal is telling the power board to quit supplying power to the main board.

Re: Samsung Ln46b610a5f Power Surge
I am on Cable... The cable line was definitely surged because I had to replace some blackened connectors. Also, the digital cable box was fried. The Cable box was connected to the TV through HDMI.
Here are the pics......

Samsung Ln46b610a5f Power Surge
Had a lightning strike the other day that zapped the TV. Decided that I would give fixing it a try.
There is no sound, lights or anything coming from the TV when powered up. When I unplug the connector from the power board to the Main board the back light will come on. All of the pins on the connector seem to have the proper voltages. As soon as I plug the connector in the back light goes off and I loose the voltages on the connector.
I am not an EE by any means so this may be a painful process. I would love to troubleshoot these boards to fix them but I do not think...
