  • Onida 32 KY ROCk LCD TV problem half screen shows white shade

Onida 32 KY ROCK shows white shade on half of the screen.
This started gradually after some 1 year back when power supply board was replaced.

Picture is displayed but the white shade is noticeable and creates inconvenience.
When set picture mode as "News" both parts appear to match in white shade but I don't like the shade.

Pure black looks good like in LHS of image below.

What is service menu code of Onida 32 KY ROCK?

Also is there any part malfunctioning and can be repaired easily without requiring company service?...

  • Re: TCON compatibality BN41-00877A 943NW with 2043NWX board BN91-01890T

Ok, thanks for letting me know that this is main/logic board and not TCON.

Looking at these two boards I see no difference in component. Probably firmware may be different.

I have at present the BN91-01890T board other board I have to order and get.

Has any one used these two interchangeably? what is the cause for the problem in my monitor is that due to Logic board or TCON ( long panel back of LCD)?

Sorry, I did not reply for long time.

In one of the Russian site I have red that the blue strips are due to corrupted firmware and we have to flash the chip with firmware

I also downloaded the firmware file MY20NOCLA_1005.bin

But I don't know how to flash and which tool can do it.

Please provide me steps to flash the firmware and tools.

Now its not turning on atll, just Blinking LED.

  • Re: Samsung Sync Master TCOn or Power board?

Hi I am getting almost correct values now like 3.2 v & 5 volt and Power LED just blinks when no signal ( no signal message also displays) and LED stays ON when connected with signal but screen appears black/blue & on changing resolution of input creates some more patterns which I posted.

Actually it all started with blinking LED & long delay to boot monitor, after some 10 mins it was showing pictures perfectly.

I was late to identify the problem with Capacitor.

    When it finally stopped...

If TCon board is damaged how the no signal message appears perfectly and also the OSD menu?

Does it indicate that TCOn is working fine and issue with PSU?

  • Re: 32 Inch LCD (Onida) issues, MLT688 rev 1.6 Power board

The Service Guy came and replaced the entire PSU.
He said capacitors are not the problem on this board, but some of the switching IC's five or six of them ( I think they are Schottky diodes) located at various places are the ones which are fitted with heat sinks require replacement.

But he did not bothered to check any of the IC and Voltages etc, but inserted new PSU board, I will get one month warranty for the new board.

Here in India i think its hard to get parts, I don't exactly know...

Hi Ben, I replaced all the CAPS except the largest capacitor on board, but no luck.

Looks like some other part also got affected.

The voltage out puts from PSU are very low like 2 -6 volts instead of 24 volts at some points which drives other logic board on the LCD.

I have asked for Service from manufacturer, will post the update.

Where can I buy Panasonic or Nichicon or NCC capacitors in India, Bangalore city?

Is there by any chance that some of the Diodes or transistors also require replacement?

Any one got block diagram of the MLT688 rev 1.6 Board?

  • Re: 32 Inch LCD (Onida) issues, MLT688 rev 1.6 Power board

    Hi Ben,
The capacitors are all 105 degree C

The original caps are from (JH)
470uf 35v total five are present on board Printed CD287 (JH) on Capacitor
    22uf 50v total three CD 263 (JH)

Inside heat sink (BOX) 5 Capas are present

    470uf 35v two
    470uf 16v, one
    1000uf 10v two

I guess the heat sink is for the transistors/IC fitted around it.

I replaced the original 470 35v ones with some other Brand called Elna...

  • Re: Samsung Sync Master TCOn or Power board?

Yes That Capacitor 1uf labeled C204 is also replaced, like you said I also tried using a new flat FFC cable earlier which again gives same No signal menu when not connected and Blue black screen when connected with a VGA source.

Also Samsung technician visited and tried with a new TCON BN94-01559T which did not worked and he said they will try to find the original TCON BN91-01890T board.

After 2 days he called me again and said the original part is not available and you have to replace every thing including the...

    Found schematic here

It plays for just a minute and then goes to standby and suddenly the 5 volt decreases to 2-3 V and 12 V decreases to 8V in standby.

I am desperate. This is second electronic Item which gone bad in a matter of few months be cause of Capacitors issues, first one being 2043NWX monitor .
But neither of these are working even after I replace the CAPS....

    Hi SellDoor,
Also can you please let me know any reason why the Vibratto Chip ( ES6698FD) is over heating quickly on other circuit board.
Is this how it work on normal DVP642?
Also there is some green marking on top of C805 100uf 10V but no bulging.
    What are these markings for?

I replace 1000uF 10V but not helping after 1 or 2 min the player goes to standby mode.

Any other capacitor I have to replace?

Also noticed that the in power board 5V is drooping to 4 v after and 12v is dropping to 8 v when players enters standby mode.

Looks like this is because of some kind of discharging of some other capacitor?

Any idea which one it is

  • DVP642 turn off after 2 minutes

    Hi all,
My DVP642 Philips DVD player refuses to play and goes in to Standby mode,
When searched I found this could be due to bad capacitor 316.

Which i now replace with another low ESR cap 1000uf 16V.
    Still the problem not solved.
Also I observed that the Vibrato Chip is getting heated quickly and.
This was happening even before I replace the capacitor.

    Can you help?
DVD player is about 6 years old.

    regards & Thanks
