SMDFleaSMDFlea awesome. That sounds easy enough. Would MPM be unlocked by making changes in the VSS or so where else? I noticed a region in uefitool called hp_mpm. I’m curious because I have some laptops that have wrong serial...

SMDFleaSMDFlea Ah great thanks so much for the script. Will try it tomorrow. Will the change in the EC bin cause any issues with the security endpoint error? I ran into that issue and wasn't sure what to change in the Main bios to fix that.

Hi does anyone know the correct way to remove a bios password off of a HP with a 32MB ec chip? I have 20 ProBook 450 G8 laptops that need to be unlocked for a client. I have had success in the past using RCunlocker from rhetoricalcheese on 840 G6 and 840 G5 but the tool only works on 16MB ec chips not 32MB.

I could ask someone to unlock a bin file for me but I need to do this over 20 times so I need to learn the method.

I have a working unlocked MAIN + EC bin from another laptop if that helps

I tried to flash those working bins to a unlocked laptop and used...

• Lenovo Golden Key V3.5.60 - DMI EDITOR (BOOTABLE USB)

Sharing the latest version of Lenovo Golden Key I found to change DMI information such as serial number, MTM, UUID. Run the U1 application and create a bootable USB. It may show an older version upon making the usb. Restart the program and it will update the USB to the next version available. For some reason the updater program does not upgrade all the way to the newest version, only incrementally until it reaches the latest. So do this, Open the u1.exe run the update, close the program, open and run again, close it and repeat until you get to the latest version 3.5.60....

Yes I already tried a full power drain to try to recover the bios but no luck. Would you happen to know how I can get a clean bios for 840 G5 with MPM unlocked?...

• Hello! I am new here and I am working for a Refurbishing warehouse for HP, Lenovo, Acer, and Dell. I am a repair technician on a team of 10 people and I have recently been tasked with researching motherboard Bios unlocking and the forum has been an amazing resource in learning to unlock laptops that we receive from recyclers. We receive many device that are locked and the passwords forgotten by businesses so I am still exploring around here and learning the different ways to modify and work with HP and Lenovo bios!...

Hi I am running into a problem with a HP 840 G5 that won't boot after using the tool. I have used the tool multiple times successfully before but for some reason this time it isn't. Heres the steps I did.

- I desoldered the 16MB chip on the back of the motherboard and programmed it with RCUnlocker then soldered it back on
- I attempted to boot the device and the speakers beeped at me and then I remembered I forgot to put the RAM back
-I put the ram back in and then booted the laptop succesfully I tried to get to the bios to reset security settings but wasn't able...
