Hi,
I have a query on capacitor's charging and discharging behavior (pattern) in parallel LC resonant circuit.
Normally, we see that capacitor discharges exponentially which is proven mathematically. The exponent term in the mathematical equation shows that capacitor discharges exponentially.
However, when we talk about parallel LC resonance circuit, there the capacitor's charging and discharging is not exponential but sinusoidal. And we notice sinusoidal oscillations out of LC tank circuit.
Could anyone explain why it (capacitor discharging...

Hi Redwire,
Yes, I agree and simulated myself as well and found the same results. Thanks for your help.

Series RL circuit
Hi everyone,
I have a series circuit. Inductor of 10uH is in series with 100 ohm resistor with pulse train voltage of 6.59 V with a duty cycle of 0.31 and frequency of 180 kHz. I want to calculate the total current flowing in this series circuit. Can anyone help me finding this? I will be really grateful.
Thank you.

Multi Plate Capacitors
Dear All,
Is it possible to have a multi plate capacitor comprised of 3 plates? I have seen one with 4 plates.
Thanks.

Capacitance of a Capacitor
Dear all,
which formula is correct for the calculation of the capacitance?
1). C = k*e0*A/d or 2). C = e0*er*A/d ???
e= epsilon
A=area of the plates
d=distance between the plates
k=dielectric constant
and if i want to calculate the capacitance in Farads then in what units the Area and Distance should be:
Area in m2 or cm2 ???
Distance in m or cm????
Thanks for the help.

Least ESR value available in Electrolytic Capacitor
What is the least value of ESR available in electrolytic capacitor? It would be great if the value of capacitance is anything from 50uF to 200uF and 100V. I have found this:
http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/search/productdetail.jsp?SKU=1547013&MER=baynote-1547013-pr
but is there anything else available in your knowledge?
Thank you very much.https://What is the least value of E...47013-pr

Characteristic Impedance of LC Filter
What is exactly the meaning of the Characteristic Impedance of the LC filter? I know the formula that is SQRT(L/C), but please tell me what does it mean?
Thanks.

Re: Transformer Core Saturation
Dear Rievax,
What dose core saturation exactly means? Does it mean after the core saturation no more flux can be passed ?

Re: What is Galvanic Coupling?
Hi Selldoor,
I have read this defination but couldnt get anything out of it.
i asked it in context of EMI noise. Noise created by the galvanic coupling between a component and another metal.
Thanks....

Re: Damping of EMI Filter
I have all the values of inductors, capacitors, damping resistor and damping capacitor. The value of damping resistor is 0.1 ohm and damping capacitor as 250uF. The capacitors used in the main filters are MKT type. now I just need to know that type of capacitors I can use for damping capcitors ?
Thanks....
