Nothing spectacular with fireworks or anything, failing instantly is what's happening.
I've replaced this MOSFET twice and the drain and source keep shorting together on the power MOSFET furthest from the laptop fan.
See pics and Flickr descriptions for more detail.

MOSFETs keep blowing up on HP OMEN RTX 2070

I also have similar ICs, mine appear to have blown up. Any luck, rpboy? you asked this question a year ago. It may be the only way to access these ICs is to contact the laptop manufacturer directly. Who knows, maybe they'll be cool.

Hi all, thank you for having me. I'm starting a bit small on my after work projects repairing various electronics, and I want to eventually expand into having a respectable electronics repair bench. From strict upbringings, I've become the engineering technician I am today. I will try my best to help where I can here. I hope to be a part of various active and healthy communities in many pockets of this forum.
