I tried to resolder the piece in question with no change in results. Picture fades as soon as it comes on.

Wow, ok. So does this MOSFET just need replaced? And on the datasheet link which one is it??

according to post #170 its a voltage regulator. Of course I am only going by what I read on here, I really dont know what either one are! Im learning as I go!

I circled the voltage regulator in question in red in the one photo.

I have hit a wall. I was following this post here, just to quickly sum up my symptons for you......

I was following along nicely, things were good, then i got to the step where it was asked to measure the pins on the voltage regulators on the t-con board. I measured the first one, which would be the one of the top of the pic.

I recently came across this website after my Philips TV had the same symptoms( same model as well). I am overwhelmed with the content of this post. It has been great reading these posts. From my learnings here I have managed to diagnose my issue and i ordered my caps (should be here Monday). Having zero experience with anything like this, I went to the Radio Shack and bought my soldering supplies. I managed to remove all bad caps and am anxiously awaiting the new ones. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this and I am looking forward to many more posts!...
