  • Re: Hanns-G HG281D, LCD Monitor no power

I made a mistake. I am replacing the caps on my HG281D power supply (Rev 2). Upon removing them, I cannot determine which cap values go at location cs18 and cs28. I know these two are 220 and 100 uf, but I don't know which is which. Would someone take a look and let me know? Thank you in advance. Larry

Yes, I want to check the caps, even though it is presently working great. When I have some spare time, I will open it up and examine it. Noise from the speakers never entered my mind, but turning off the volume seems to have solved the problem! Thanks again.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have never had audio cables attached to the monitor and I have no idea where the internal speakers are located, but I will check this out. I will first turn down/off the volume and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion!

    10 minutes later....

Turned volume down to 0 and muted the speakers. No popping sound on reboot. I hope this resolves the problem!

    Howdy....

Searched through the archives, but did not find a problem like this. My HG281D is now producing a noticeable "pop" when when changing resolutions. I first noticed this sound when using a KVM to switch between computers connected to the monitor. The two computers were running at different resolutions and toggling between them eventually produced this popping noise.

Later, I removed the KVM and attached the monitor to one computer. It still pops each time the computer boots and screen resolution switches from boot resolution (1280-960?) to 1920x1200....
