Re: Sony KDL-48R550C, need comments is it Panel FAILURE?
I hate those black glue. Most Lenovo laptops since Intel 4th generations, they pump this glue underneath the BGA. I received insider info from Lenovo engineering support team, with instruction to remove the BGA. Tried but end up damaging the board circuit most of the time.
Anyway, I did tried to remove the SENK13 BGA, no luck, board circuit damage. For now, case KIV until i get my self some equipment to be able to reattach the tcon strip to the panel. Need some DIY type of equipment, that machine is very costly,...

Re: Sony KDL-48R550C, need comments is it Panel FAILURE?
In my case, bad tcon. The SENK13 bga chip faulty. This chip is located at the tcon strip. I found out that there is those BLACK glue underneath the chip. This is a very difficult to replace. better option is to get the whole tcon strip but you will need skills to reattach those pfc ribbons back to the panel.

some updates
At this connector, those with voltage symbols all have the respective volt.
and...
Power On/Off - 3.50v
Pwm Dim - 0
BLU on/off - 4.85v...

Re: BN44-00496B A5V only have 2.2V
I ordered a replacement board. Same codes, but rev number is 1.1 instead of 1.2 on the problematic psu board.
All voltage is alive and within limits. However the power button on the tv would not fire up the tv. No backlight, nothing. I notice the main chip on the motherboard is slightly warm, I assume nothing is wrong.
I tried disconnecting the mother ribbon connection to psu board. Switch on the mains, the led light up. Connect it back, and cannot power on.
Any ideas?
Is it firmware related?

I am not sure totally sure, but so far this didn't give indication of total failure though....

Re: Lenovo Yoga 500-15ISK BIOS or Battery charging chip
At this moment, don't offline flash those bios. Yoga and most of newer Lenovos uses MATCHED bioses for Main and EC. Different version, it won't startup. You could try backup the main bios. Refresh the Intel ME. Flash it back to the bios chip.Last edited by jeremykum; 06-20-2017, 06:39 AM.

Re: BN44-00496B A5V only have 2.2V
BTW I did some test.
I remove 3 diodes in red circle, and I get 190VDC at LED socket D1/DI
Checked these 3, all ok, diode test same reading.
Soldered it back, I get 50VDC
Means anything to you guys?...Last edited by jeremykum; 06-20-2017, 06:31 AM.

Black = drain
red = source
0.480v
reverse it, 0v...

Re: BN44-00496B A5V only have 2.2V
On this board, this L shoud be L9801. Removed. Still 2.2V at A5V
The filter cap for 13V register 0v. Circuit checked, not grounded.
Q9101, should be the big N-Chan mosfet FDD7N25LZ, measured with DCA meter, seems working. Source and drain, one way register 11.2Mohm, the other way 0 (if continuity mode, no beeping)....

Re: BN44-00496B A5V only have 2.2V
I check those 3 smd resistor, 330k, as per printing on chip 3302. Should be fine.
BTW the part code printing doesn't match as per the schematic provided. However the circuit I think should be almost identical, except some values of the ICs could be slightly different....

Thanks, will test those should be the 3 smaller diodes.
Now need to get my 6 year old kid to bed first, 11pm here. Will continue later if not too tired, or tomorrow. Working for the past 12 hours....

Re: BN44-00496B A5V only have 2.2V
After studying the schematic, I want to share this 2S110
Leg 2 - 1.28v seems normal
Leg 4 - 268v seems undervolt (schema shows 308v)
Leg 8 - 9.8V seems undervolt again as per schema 15v
Negative probe at Main filter cap
