picked up some more broken Sets today to learn on . A nice person donated these to me for the cause .

General lcd picture fade in and out question
From reading some other posts , seems usally panel problem / or possible invertor problem . I also don't have a much to go on except the video i was sent , and was told the picture fades in and out .
Iam thinking of going to look at it and wondering if theres anything i can look for while there to rule one or other out before i consider buying it . Any tips on what to look for ?

Great , Glad you tried to fix it yourself ... i opted not to fix the ipm on my set . Gonna send it out to get done . Next one i may try , i want to keep this plasma i picked up , got 2 more Plasma's coming ( smaller ones ) and 2 lcd's . On them i will give it a shot . Knwing you did it and got it buttoned up , gives me hope on my upcoming attempt.

tom66 , i looked for a fuse on it for about 15 mins haha ..
Went fishing today so didn't check much , other then when Z board power plug is unpluged , i lose part of screen ......
Ok going to order a z board . Noticed that after set is off for awhile when it gets turned on , it takes about 2 1/2 mins for the picture to slowly come together to form on the display . After that i can turn it off , wait a couple mins and it...Leave a comment:

No fuses on Z board , f2 and f3 fuses good ... Basically same as issue here : [url]https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=17662&highlight=50pc3d[/url]
VA = both show 59.9 ( pins 1 and 2 of connector P805 )
VS = All 3 show 195.8/ ( pins 8,9,10 of connector P805 )

Ok , took back off and trying to view /doc/16077007/LG-50PC1DRTroubleshootingManual-2007-VG-Training on scribd ( this locks my computer everytime i visit that site ) Anyways , i see the 2 fuses on the y main , and possible a non glass one also .
Should i check voltage on the plug going to the z board or is checking it at pin socket on y board a better idea ?

Picked this up to learn alittle more.
The Good : powers on and has display , sound . menu works
The Bad : When i turn its , slow to load picture and the picture is washed out / dull like is how i put it . no remote included .
Owner said the plasma display must be bad and not charging
I have not opened the back up at all yet but will be shortly . Might be bad Zsus or who knows . I 'll do some reading and see what i can find .
Either way beats messing with the other 42 inch plasma that had no piture at all ( thou i still want... -

Also quick note , after removal of x and y board to recheck cables and see if i missed any bad caps , I reinstalled and now get a brief white light on the lower left side of panel , If that makes sense ..Leave a comment:

Not giving up yet , So questions :
1) Should the Main board/ power supply board have heat roughly the same across the board with what my tv doing what its doing ? ( right side last heatsink staying 77 degrees ..... The Y main board heat sinks are 76 and 78 /// the x main heatsinks are 81 and 78 .
2) If the PDP is bad .. what else can i check to verify it is ? ( iam still thinking pdp board or logic) IF PDP is would there still be heat in the y and x main boards .

No , in a pitch black room when i turn power on i wouldn't even know it came on except for the green led under the screen.. and the sound ....Leave a comment:
