Please bear with me and my lack of experience. This laptop will not charge and has no lights when plugged in.I’ve found that a good portion of the board has a short. No obvious visible problems (not having a variable voltage/current supply) I connected the shorted area of the board to a 9 volt battery and probed around with the temperature probe on my VOM. I found this part became a lot hotter than anything else on the board. My question is whether it can be tested on the board or not? I’ve checked between VIN1 and other terminals and get less than 2 ohms on all but two terminals....

Doesn’t look like that board. Once I get the ok from the owner I’ll pull the board to try and identify it. Thanks.
