Re: Dell Inspiron 15 3511
So I did have the battery disconnected when I put it back together, I also did try hooking up an external monitor via HDMI, but it would only "stay on" if I pressed and held the power button.
If I plugged in AC power, it would just turn on all on its own.
No post either way; just lights, capslock solid, and fans running at max speed.
For my client's sake, I just ordered a replacement board and they are back up and running again. But I'll be DAMNED as to what the hell happened to the old board... I have been doing this 20+ years...

Re: Dell Inspiron 15 3511
I have also gone through the Dell support pages thoroughly!
Including on how to reset the RTC.

Re: Dell Inspiron 15 3511
I did search the Forums for the Dell Model that I am working on, but could not find any similar posts. If I did miss something, I apologize and please send me in the right direction!

Dell Inspiron 15 3511
Good day, good folks of the Forum!
I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3511 that was working perfectly fine before starting a screen installation. Then after getting the screen installed, the system will briefly turn on when I press the power button, but will not stay on...
If I press and hold the power button, the system will "stay on" but there is no POST or anything...
When I connect a charger, the system will power on immediately, and stay on. But no POST and the system can not be hard shutdown...
As there is no CMOS battery, do I just need to disconnect the power...
