Hi guys,
I've been parts shopping for a little project that I'm looking to build, and I got stumped by this. The build requires a very exact matched pair of capacitors giving as close a total capacitance as possible to 1020pf (within 0.5% tolerance).
I noticed that RS has some silver micas that are rated to 1% tolerance for 1000pf which I can then combine it with another small silver mica rated to 0.5% tolerance, and get my 1020pf.
Alternatively, I can grab a LC meter and head down to the nearby electronics shop and cherry pick out some silver micas...

Question to other AADE LC meter owners
Hi all,
I have just ordered for myself a kit for AADE's LC meter, and was reading through the instruction manual to get a hang of what's involved to get it together.
One thing I noticed as I was going through the parts list is that the design consisted of a pair of 2 capacitors, C2a and C2b, of which the total capacitance is vital to the operation of this thing.
I was actually considering swopping the capacitors out for some higher quality ones Wimas, but I guess I won't be able to do it now.
I don't like a tool that I don't understand...

Need some help on Blue ESR meter assembly
Hi all,
Sorry in advance for my extremely noob-cake questions
I got myself a Blue ESR meter lately, and got a bit stumped with the final bit of its assembly.
To make it easier for you guys to see what I mean, here is how it looks like now:
I managed to figure out where the two variable pots go as well as the 2 blue LED lights, however what got me are 3 little capacitors. The ones that are 22uF, 33nF and 0.47uF.
There are two 22uF capacitors on the schematic, and the bigger one I have soldered on, but the smaller...
