Re: Element ELDFT404 Will not power on.
Okay havent been able to do anything about this until now.
Is it a safe bet that I can just order the main board without taking the trip down there and testing it, or is it very likely it could be something else?
Thanks

Re: Element ELDFT404 Will not power on.
I told my brother to locate his remote to give it a shot. I found a main board online for $85. I wasn't sure if the main board could be the issue with powering on. Thanks

Element ELDFT404 Will not power on.
We believe it was a power surge or something. I replaced the whole power board and the problem hasn't been fixed. It does absolutely nothing when plugged in or when I hit power.
Could the switch be the issue or could everything be fried?
I have pictures but will have to upload when I have access to a PC.

Edit: Also would the standard 1N4007 work for it? (JW)

Re: Phillips 42PFL5432D/37 Chirping and No Picture
Thanks, never seen a fuse other than the glass looking ones.
All 4 read at .3, so they seem fine.
So far we're down to either
1) Diodes are bad and need replaced, casualties from when the Caps went bad?
2) Another (larger?) part of the power board is causing a false positive.
I'm leaning towards number one, like Mr. Bills situation, but I know to expect the unexpected.. I'll start off by removing one leg of each diode and checking for false positives. If...

Re: Phillips 42PFL5432D/37 Chirping and No Picture
Ok, first results..
ZD904 .02 and .02
ZD902 .05 and .05
D925 .07 and .07
D912 .000 and .000
I should desolder one side from each to retest now? I've repeatedly been getting the same results. There are other D and ZD diodes that the results came back fine.
Edit: checking fuses right now, so far so good...Last edited by tw1ztid; 01-23-2012, 12:08 AM.

Re: How Much are You Guys Paying for Broken TVs?
Thinking about checking out a PS3 that randomly wouldn't power on one day, we assumed someone stepped on a cord and broke it but not sure.. Once I get this working I can test out hdmi and see if it works or not, if not then it may be something stupid simple with the knowledge i'm learning from this.

Dont have it yet. Slow day at work and trying to be prepared. I know how much i question every little thing , and worry if i do it right I'm sure im overcomplicating it. Sorry for that in advance.. lol. Once i catch on to the basics it all gets very simple.
