  • Re: Spectroniq PLTV-3250 wont start

Could the no-name (Newark or digikey I'm sure) caps I used cause this sort of problem? What else should I really look for?...

    Thought I would ask.

    Thanks guys!

the 3 on the top left of the first pic that have the black dot on them are the only ones I replaced. They were physically broken open at the top. I used a Tenma cap meter on the rest and they seemed ok, so hadn't messed with them.

IDK the brands - top left little blue guy says 28IVGN (brand - product? IDK).
    Other two say KME.

These were some caps I just happen to have with my monitor parts. I honestly don't know their ESR...

Ok, I tried to take a few pics. Top and bottom side of P.S. board (2 of bottom), one of the three other boards. and one each of the three up close.

Hope these help a little...please lmk if I need to take pics of other items.

    Thank you very much!...

Ok, so while I did measure that the 5VDC standby is there, I did so before reconnecting everything.

With all connections reattached, the 5VDC is NOT a constant 5V but rather is constantly fluctuating (on my DMM)! Best as my digital meter is telling me, it is going up to nearly 5 then down to about 1.4 or so...

I cannot get any 3.3v reading. I do not see a standby led or anything so really don't think the controls are even working.

    Any help???? Ideas???

    Thank you!!!!!!

So got some parts in and replaced caps and Q7. I now have my 5V standby, but unit is still dead...

My understanding is that the 3.3VDC signal voltage is a brief voltage sent back to the power supply when the power button is pressed enabling the turn on of the 16 snd 24vdc section; correct?

So whether using the power button or remote, I should be able to meter the signal voltage. If it does appear, I need to check things like Q11.

Anyone have any idea what to look for if I have the 5VDC standby, but...

Sorry if this is an old thread, but looked like a good place to post this question...so, is FMMT2222A the (only) P/N for Q7? I have replaced most of the caps and found that Q7 is shorted. Just wondered if there are other part numbers that are equivalent as the only easy source I have found for the FMMT2222A was on ebay overseas and I really don't need 100+ of them...

Just thought I would see if anyone had a cross reference of numbers or anything. Hope this is posted ok, I'm a newbie on here.

    Thanks to all!
