Hello,
I'm asking this for a friend, he has a backup battery, a quite large unit, that does not
work as intended. Even the service techican was not able to solve all problems so far.
My friend tried to log the SPI bus, but there is a lot of communication going on.
Without any meaningful description on the Ic's internal registers he's quite lost.
The datasheet that's avalible for download form Analog Devices is only 2 pages and contains
nothing more than a block diagram and a coarse description of the operation.

Re: Commonly used SMD capacitors
I add 100n 0805/0603 to the list, nearly all ICs are decoupled with one more of them.
This is one of my most used parts in new designs, but they rarely fail.

Re: Talk to me about tantalums
Tantalum capacitors in audio circuits is a very controverse discussed theme. Some audio gurus are strictly against their use.
On the other side you can find tantalum capacitors in high end products, even in the signal path.
If a ciruit is your own design and you find good reason to use a tantalum capacitor, use it.
If you want to replace a e.g. electrolytic type in an existing audio ciruit, for what reason ever, better don't do that.

Re: Schematics Download Site
Let me add another one, I got some needed service manuals from there. The new stuff is mostly user manuals and datasheets, but if you're in vintage gear it may be useful: https://www.audioservicemanuals.com/Re: Schematics Download Site<br /> ...als.com/
