Re: LCC5255U going to error standby
If I provided 3.3 V externally, would I damage anything?

Re: LCC5255U going to error standby
Budm, hope you around this evening and doing well. I am working on the identical set and have also found that IC9603 is putting out 2.0VDC. It briefly rises to 3.1VDC when the PS first turns on, but quickly falls to 2.0VDC. Searching for a replacement for LV5893M, but not findings a source. Can you suggest a possible replacement IC?

Re: Sharp LC-42D43U - sound but no video
I've searched and searched for any schematics or info on this or related boards. Almost thought about buying a replacement board, but am too stubborn to quit. Anyone have any suggestions on what to look at on this board? The two IC's (Sharp LZ9FB27 and TB728A5) are scarce in terms of info.....Help!!!

Re: Sharp LC-42D43U - sound but no video
D1758's are NPN transistors. They should show a voltage across the emitter/collector, correct? The B1182's are PNP from a quick search.Last edited by ahickman; 02-17-2014, 01:31 PM.

Re: Sharp LC-42D43U - sound but no video
Tom66, I checked voltages around all SMD caps and found 3.3V, etc. I then looked at the larger SMD caps (orange color) in the bottom left corner which filter the bank of transistors. I found no voltages across any. Then went looking at the two SMD chips directly above them. Only found voltages on one or two pins. Picture of the area is below....

Sharp LC-42D43U - sound but no video
I pulled another set today from the dump. Its a Sharp LC-42D43U. Powered it up but no video. Used a VGA input. I've got sound, but no video. Below are some other details:
1. Backlights do come on when powered. Although, the seem to dim after about 10 seconds.
2. Besides the blue hue from the backlights, I don't see any images.
3. OPC and Power LED are on. They are steady and not blinking.
4. TV responds to the input, PWR, Channel and Volume buttons as expected.
Searched the forum and other sites for similar symptoms...

Samsung / Sanyo DP50747 - no standby voltage
Weather here is looking grim, so I filled up the stove and pulled up a chair to a 50" plasma set that I had promised a friend I would take a stab at repairs on. Plugged it in and got no response. Immediately removed the back panel and visually inspected boards looking for obvious (fuses, caps and blown components). Found a bad fuse, replaced it and put the set on the isolated transformer. Brought it up to voltage and the fuse blew. Started running through the related components and found Q110 ( 11N80C3) to be bad on the power supply (Samsung PSPF561A01A rev. DR3 0.8). Replaced it and powered...

Sylvania ld195ssx stuck in service mode
All,
Just found a Sylvania (Funai ?) ld195ssx that powers up automatically into what looks like a service mode. It cycles through multiple colors and does not respond to any key combos. I looked through the sticky for reset codes and googled my heart out but found nothing that will exit the service mode. BTW, I am without a remote. Wondering if I can use a universal remote programmed for Sylvania or do I have to have the factory issued remote?
Thanks,
aaron

thanks. Never new there was such a thing.

Re: help identify replacement resistor
The resistor was on the primary side of a PS. and fed to n-channel MOSFETS where were also shorted.

help identify replacement resistor
Good morning. Can anyone tell me specifics about the resistor below? Certainly understand that it is 0.33 Ohms, but can't find anything through Google that helps me identify specifics about it. Thanks ahead of time for any helpful input....Last edited by ahickman; 02-01-2013, 08:04 AM.

LG 37LC2D - no picture but STBY and green LED
A co-worker brought me an LG 37LC2D that stopped working. Plugged it in and saw the red LED light. Pushed the PWR button and LED went green, but no picture or sound. Stripped the covers off to expose the MB, PS and other boards. Immediately notice that there were two bulging capacitors in the secondary side of the PS. Replaced both and she fired right up. Not positive, but the make of these caps were SANWAH (?) 1000uf @25 VDC. Circuit component numbers were C237 and C234....
