Re: Faulty 61in NEC MP1 plasma tv, stuck with a 17in CRT in the lounge
Hi
Sorry for not updating here.
As of today's date i am still using my NEC, it has been fine with the PSU board i got from the USA.
hkposition, looks like you have got to the bottom of the problem. Thank you for the detailed info. I am sure it will help me and others searching the net.
Looks like there's still life in these panels for the time being.
I am sure we will talk again...................
Once again thanks to Tom66 and everybody...

Re: Samsung LE32R87BD in standby, red led, can it be switched on without the remote?
I thought i would up date this thread.
I got a new PSU board and a remote. Fitted them and the panel come to life. As it powered up i could see the screen was smashed , gutted but, a hoe. Stripped her down and recycled the rest.
Thanks for all your help.

Re: Faulty 61in NEC MP1 plasma tv, stuck with a 17in CRT in the lounge
I thought i would update this thread.
I/we could not put up with it any more, it has been off and on the wall about 5 or 6 times in total. So i bit the bullet and ordered the only PSU board i could find which was in the US, got hit with customs charge as well.
I hope it gives me a bit more use. Before it had a little buzz which has gone with this new board, so that must of had something to do with it.
Thank you all for your help.

Re: Samsung LE32R87BD in standby, red led, can it be switched on without the remote?
I dont know if i up to debuging a board with my limited skill, but as i am not at work at the moment i might waste a little time on it, after all that is where the buzz come's from and not from changing a board.
As you know the components are penny's as well.
Where,s best to get a PSU other than the bay if i was going to go down that route?
When you say "With the above test can you check if PS is at 3V or 0V with the resistor in both position"....Last edited by Securityman; 07-05-2012, 05:48 PM.

Re: Samsung LE32R87BD in standby, red led, can it be switched on without the remote?
This test failed and the resistor tested ok after so it did not pop it.
Is it worth me trying to locate the fault on the board or just get a new one?...

PS = 3.44v, but cycles every 3 seconds from .020v to 3.44v.
Makes no difference if the power button is pressed or not....

Re: Samsung LE32R87BD in standby, red led, can it be switched on without the remote?
Sorry i did not get the pics up yesterday, looking after the little one and had know time.
There are two sockets on the PSB one the top right. The top one has a plug in it going to the left of the panel. the one below does not have anything connected to it.
The top one, from the top going down the pins are
PWM
AdM
NC
5 x Grd pins
5 x 24v pins
The one below is
Grd
PWM
BL
ADM
5 X Grd
5 X 24v...

Re: Samsung LE32R87BD in standby, red led, can it be switched on without the remote?
Yes Tom, it,s still popping them. Have not gone down the link out route yet.
I have been cleansing my self of tv to see how long i can last.
Going a little stir crazy i think, which is not good just from not having tv.
Still back to business.
I have checked that i have mains voltage at the first fuse on the PSB.
How do i check for "stable standby voltages?
As you know, i am ok if prodded in the right direction.
Do you think i should...
