hello. i have a hp 840g8 with administrator password, computer still turns on fine.
i removed a password on similar hp before using the Hex and addresses
but this 2 chips dumps are different then the other ones. 1st chip cant find the same address to edit, 2nd chip looks empty.
i did read and verify chips twice, and i used 2 different programmers software got same result in the dumps
is this a new bios version or i m doing something wrong???

i compared my file and the one you edit there is very small different but it dosent looks like the the ones in the patch, i think you guys using a software not hex editor, do im right?

hello
i have a hp 840G8 with bios password 32MB chip
i removed and read the 2 chips U366 and U367 dunno which one is mainbios or EC as cant find no post about it,
cant use U366 chip on RCunlocker got the error 32mb chip!
so i tried other way patch the U367 chip i changed all the code as it shows. now computer boot fine after that i went to the bios and changed the boot and some other settings fine, but it wont let me change the security setting to the default in the first boot, it asked...Last edited by SMDFlea; 03-26-2023, 01:11 PM.Leave a comment:

element elefw408 color patterns only HELP!!!
tv turns on shows the color patterns only cycle resd blue green white black...
the power button on the tv turns on the tv but not turns off, i do have the original remote
i flashed the eeprom with a file i downloaded from internet, still doing the same colors
any help. thx -

the led turns white but no picture no sound and cant turns off after that, this is how i fixed it:
test around the eeprom for the voltage should get 3.5 to 5v. test the connector goes to keypad board, if you click to any button should see some change in voltage 1 to 3v
thats mean the main board and processor are good, is just the eeprom software crashed
remove the eeprom read and save it to the computer, and rewrite it with the same file and it will work, can use the same eeprom.

andrew, i did that test and this what i got:
first time i plugged it to the power clicked and the lightbulbs turned on, va good, vs good, and m5v good too,
the voltage on the connector goes to the motherboard good as marked on the board, DC-DET 5v.
i unplugged it and plugged again, started clicks for long time before the lightbulbs turned on
i let it on for couple minute, then i installed the board to the tv quick. tv turned on showed the pictures, turned it off/on clicks no power.

the resistors for vs R927 R928 R929 tested good ( not open)
all small resistors r103 r104 r105r106 r107 r108 r109 r110 r112 r113 tested good (not open)
all fuses are good (not open)
changed ic301 still the same problem
other boards tested for shorted mosfets transistors
the small burned spot on the back of the board is from my hot air gun

budm you the man, it was a bad caps i changed a C506, 507, 508, 510, 511 as you suggested. and tv works
another question plz. i have other lg eax61432501 power board that has a problems clicking on off, the big resistors for vs or va are good reading not open.

No cracks on solder,
