Alright, looks like I'll set about replacing the fallen soldier.
May have the cap available at work, will find out tomorrow. If not, I'll order one.
Should I plan (and order) to replace several on the board, or just the one that is bulging?

Hello all, I hope your 2012 has started off better than mine. I fell ill with strep and my tv decided to go belly-up in the same day. Since I'm stuck at home anyway (still contagious for a while yet), repairing the tv has become a project.
Basically, it will function normally for a few seconds after being turned on, albeit with an odd noise. It sounds like a faint buzz and/or grind.
After that, the power led will change from green to amber, the screen goes blank, and the buzz stops. In it's stead, a high-pitched humming sound will occur. The humming will continue...
