The LeFavor 858 heat gun can be used, but it's tricky due to not being able to see the solder melt under the chip. Here are quick tips:
Start with a lower temperature (250-300°C).
Use a smaller nozzle.
Apply flux to aid solder flow.
Practice on scrap PCBs to get a feel.
Considering your concern, your old toaster oven could be a better choice. It offers more control and visibility during reflow. Give it a shot and monitor the solder.
