Re: atx YLP-013 Repair help please
Thanks a lot!
I'll try to find an optocoupler.
Is the fairchild H11AA817C the right part?
And I'll check the divider resistors.
Do you know what values they should be?
Don't know where to buy a WT7520, do you know of a supplier?

Re: atx YLP-013 Repair help please
The 431 reference has 2.525 volts on one side and about 1.94 on the other.
The 5vsb output is now 5.6 vdc with 140mv ripple (still a little high)
No other outputs up yet.

Re: atx YLP-013 Repair help please
The cap reads 47 uF.
Any other ideas?
If I check ripple with scope on the bench , what should I expect?

Re: atx YLP-013 Repair help please
Thanks I'll pull it and check it out. I think that I have one here and will just replace it.
Any ideas about the main supplies?

Re: atx YLP-013 Repair help please
Started it up and the 5Vvsb output is 5.89 volts.
No smoke
No other outputs
Will have to check the WT7520 when I get more time.
What regulates the 5vsb? seems a little high.

Re: atx YLP-013 Repair help please
Thanks, I have a variac at work that I can use.
This is what I plan.
Jumper pin 14 to gnd.
Place 10 ohm 10 watt on + 5 vdc
Plug it into the variac.
Try to power it up.
Check all outputs.
Does this sound correct?

Re: atx YLP-013 Repair help please
I replaced Q4 & Q7 the schottkey is still good.
Checked a lot of the caps aroun that circuit and found no bad ones.
Any suggestions before I try to power this up or even a good way to power it upon the bench .

Re: atx YLP-013 Repair help please
Thanks a lot.
I'm now waiting for the new Q7 to arrive and I'll try to repair this.
New Q7, Q4, and schottky diode.

Re: atx YLP-013 Repair help please
Thanks for the heads up.
I did download the data sheets to see if a close enough sub but did not check pinout.
Still not sure Q4 pn is correct.

Re: atx YLP-013 Repair help please
Note Q4 is a TO92 I think it might be a STC945 but I still can't read it except the "5", there is another STC945 in the supply.
Can I replace it with a 2N3904?
Anyone?

I found Q4 blown also.
It is also blown and can't read the PN.
Do you know what it is?
Also found a bad shottkey.
Thanks

YLP-013
Do you know the number for Q4 also?

Thanks for the reading.
Very Complete.
Still a pain without a schematic but will move forward.

Re: atx YLP-013 Repair help please
Thanks for the part number. I,ll get one right away.
Any experience why it blew up?
I really could use a schematic if you knew where to get one.
That would make this so easy.

Re: DC PSU output?
You probably can't up the voltage by much.
If you measure the input to the To-3 on the heatsink your maximum output would be that minus about 1.25 volts.
