Hi,
I’m debugging my 1980 Ariston amplifier. I have distortion at medium volume, +2v dc offset on the right channel, 500mV on the left. The left shows distortion on a sine wave from the preamp/feedback stage, the right is good.

But this post is not about that, this post is about these two big blue ALP caps.

Can’t seem to find any specs on them - still looking.

There are two, looks like one per channel.
They have 4 pins.

• a rare beast: The Scotland-made Ariston Integrated Amplifier.

Hi there

Total noob here.
I have been hanging on to learn more about diagnosing and fixing amps, and watching a lot of youtube.

This one is the Ariston Integrated Amplifier. There's no model number.
I didn't find many references online: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-ariston-amplifier-made-174132328.

I've owned this one for about 15 years. It was working fine, and was put away for a long time. Today the sound can be described as crunchy. You can clearly hear music, but it's very clipped and distorted.

Hi there from New Zealand.
I found this site from a reference from the @LearnElectronicsRepair youtube channel.

A number of Amplifiers have started to gather over the years and this is my attempt to do something with them.

I hope someone can help me work out how to diagnose one of them!
