@ JaroTech thank you so very much! will check pl401 for open. I guess the next thing I need to do is determine the orientation of the chip, which way it sits on the board. Every picture I could find of the board was low resolution. Thank you again!

I am new here and apparently, I am not able to start a new thread so I hope you don't mind If I ask a similar question here. I am also trying to ID a burnt chip on a Lenovo el432/el532 motherboard. I had a Dell that was doing something similar. It was the result of a bad bios battery. Also, the power supply got a bad reading with the little plug tester which was replaced prior to the fresh bios batt.Leave a comment:
