Hi Everyone,
Newbie here again.
I have a resistor that has blown on a Sonos Connect Amp (see attached). Could someone explain to me how I determine the wattage of the resistor?
Thank you all again for your patience and help.

Re: OMRON E5CS heater controller Diode identification help
Could you please explain how this works. If I were to guess, the transistors are used to create an a/c voltage to drive the transformer large enough to satisfy the out dc voltages required by the logic board. What I'm struggling with is how the transistors work to create that specific a/c voltage....

Re: OMRON E5CS heater controller Diode identification help
Many thanks for your help.
I did replace the main capacitor, that had gone.
Do you know what purpose the small blue capacitors serve. In my ignorance, I thought it was these two capacitors and resistors that were creating an oscillation which was driving the main transistor to the transformer.

Re: OMRON E5CS heater controller Diode identification help
Attached are some images of the board. This is this is the power board that converts the AC into various DC voltages for the logic board.
Running a did from a good board through a component analyser, it says it's a Diode Junction with a forward voltage of 0.672v at 5v. So I'm guessing that it's not a schottky diode or Zenner. Therefore, its it safe to assume I could replace this with even a 1n4007?...

OMRON E5CS heater controller Diode identification help
Hi everyone,
I have a diode that I need help identifying. I've been scouring the web (newbie) can can't seem to find anything. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place. Attached is an image of the diode. If you could help me it would be greatly appreciated. Also, an explanation of how to calculate the values would be great.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Trouble finding an IC
Thank you. I've managed to order a few from Aliexpress. Hopefully, these will workout. Finding a data sheet is my next challenge for this chip.

Trouble finding an NEC IC
Guys,
Can anyone help me identify this IC, it's connected to a thermocouple on a heater controller. I'm trying to find where I can get a replacement and a data sheet. I believe it's from NEC, but googling has drawn a blank after that.
Best regards

Wavegen question
Hi Guys,
Please forgive this noobie question. But I would very much appreciate your thoughts.
I have an oscilloscope that has a wavegen function. I'm using it to generate a standard sin wave with 12v peak to peak amplitude at 1hz. My questions are (and please forgive if these are dumb questions):
1) Could I feed this into a full bridge rectifier to analyse its effect (i.e. see the sin wave going in and the unsmoothed DC coming out?
2) Is this the same as passing a low voltage a/c source into the rectifier?
3) If the above answer...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi Everyone,
I've just started to get into electronics. I've been watching many, many YouTube videos posted but by Rich on the Learn Electronics Repair channel. He mentioned that this forum was an excellent place to get electronic questions answered. I have many being a newbie, so hopefully you guys will be able to help me along my way to a better understanding of electrons.
Best regards
Peter
