is there a test to see which it is w/o buying a TCON. if it matters, the bars are transparent sometimes. I can see the picture behind them.

Sony Bravia LCD Vertical Lines
Model kdl-46hx800 tv just over a year old has two vertical bars on the right half of the screen. The left bar flickers and changes from light gray to black. Sometimes is has a blue thin dotted line running down the side of the bar also. The bars are there from the moment the tv is powered on and do not go away. Also, sometimes the right half has flickering bars, everywhere, but they don't stay. See picture. it is sideways for whatever reason......
