As far as the mosfet goes, it's labeled: F15NM60N. I can't find any legit places selling them, any suggestions as to where I might be able to pick one of these up? Other writings on the fet are GK1FN V3, CHN 927, and it's manufactured by ST.

Same reading with Q853 taken off the board.

The reading on the board from Gate and Source soldering pads is 0.L

Also, I'm just making this thing worse and worse.. My soldering iron has a really hard time heating the solder that is on the board to an appropriate temperature. I managed to mess up the C882 capacitor in the process. It's reading a 0.L load resistance across it now (no gradual increasing resistance as the capacitor charges, just a constant 0.L) I was able to find the readings on it and they are from top to bottom,...

Ok, I'll remove Q853, but to clarify what reading would you like me to take with it out? I'll take readings on the Q853 itself, but on the board you want V or R readings? I assume resistance readings with the power off. By board pads, you mean where the Gate/Source pins were previously at correct?

These are the reading across the MOSFET in question, I realized the difference between 0.0 and 0.L thanks for looking out for a misconception though.

So far my parts list I need to replace will be the .2 Ohm FR (though not sure on what wattage rating to get), the mosfet Q853, and possibly C854 the 120/450V behemoth....

    Re: Dell U2410f

I took measurement resistance measurements on the Q950 and Q850 MOSFET and had measurements as follows on the 20k MM setting.

    Q950: GS - 9.43, SD - 0.L, DG - 0.L
    Q550: GS - 9.16, SD - 0.L, DG - 0.L

So it does indeed look like the Q853 MOSFET was shorted out as well.

I also did notice a small dark mark on the bottom side of the board that I've attached a picture of. I'm not sure if this would cause anything to be a problem or not, but wanted to note it....

I'm pretty sure what happened was I grounded out the resistor. Not smart on my part.. Regardless, the resistance readings I'm seeing across Q853 is SG: .6, SD: 2, and DG: 2.4 a bit rusty, but from what I was reading on another post if any of the readings are less the 30 ohms it's probably shorted out. This very well could be the case.. idk, I think the best thing will to get my blunder patched up and then begin solving the original issue ...

I believe the P/N is KLS-LM240SH-HV Rev:0.3 94-0 the other number on the board is 6632L-0507C which is close to the right circle in the last post....

Is there anything you would suggest I order online, or pickup from Radio Shack to replace the Fusible Resistor?

well I don't really have anything just laying around - I am interning in Arizona, so not much made the trip with me over from the midwest. I can swing by Radio Shack and pick up whatever you suggest. As far as not turning it on, I've already messed that one up.. it turned on and nothing started smoking so don't think anything else got shorted/burned out when I messed it up.

Please just let me know whatever places you would like a closer view of and I'll be more then happy to snap a photo.

One thing to note before we get too deep into this,...

hey budm, tell me what else you would like me to take measurements on and I'll be mroe then happy to. If you need more pictures just let me know for that too. I have a nice DSLR camera I can take them with

I think I found the resistor, or pretty darn close to what I burn out - but am not sure where to pick them up at as it's a company based in China. If you have any suggestions for an alternative I'm all ears.

Thanks for the info about what to use for the measurements..

Even minus the resistor I blew out, not sure if I should have turned it on again after that but nothing further went boom. The capacitor is seeing a 160 V load from the +/- terminals when it is turned on/plugged in. It doesn't seem to ramp up at all. Though, that may have been because of the blown resistor, but I highly doubt that as I was getting those readings before.

Thank you very much for all your help! Appreciate it a lot.

Ok, so another piece of the puzzle is that it's labeled as a FRXXX on the circuit board, not just RXXX, not sure what the distinction is.

Pictures of the surrounding circuit are attached....

    .2 ohm F1J Fu 992

Those are the markings on the resistor I burned out, but not really sure what I should use to replace it.

    Re: Dell U2410f

Yup, just got done measuring that after reading up on some other things. The fuse is labeled, as you mentioned, F001 but also 6.3 A, and 125 V. Measuring the Voltage I am seeing it as 23.8 V (the same as the capacitors, and the leads coming into the board)

Also, would like to correct my typo above - the large 450 V capacitor is reading a difference of ~240 V, -56 on 186 on the (-/+) terminals.

**Edit** I was trying to measure some of the voltage regulators, and I nicked the small resistor alongside the large 450 v capacitor. Needless...

hey guys, the monitor stays black as day throughout the entire process. I was able to hook it up to my laptop through VGA and I can see the picture throughout the entire screen when shining my flashlight directly into the monitor.

If you were trying to see if it was the 2 seconds to black issue, I don't think this is it as it doesn't light up at all (even for a split second)

    Thanks, keep the suggestions coming.

I will try to strip it down as far down as I can to try and let as much light leak out as possible (if there is any ) will get back to you guys in a little bit.

Another thing to possibly point towards the panel is this quote I found while searching the issue on bit-tech forums.

From GoodBytes who seems to be pretty rebutable on the forum,

"Dell has the most courage... they sent to reviewers U2410 early revision A00, where LG (panel used in the Dell U series monitor) had A LOT of production problem at the time (that was in 2009, it affected many LG IPS users)."

What do you know, I have a 2009 A00 U2410F version Also, any chance of sweet talking myself into a repair...

ok - here's an update, I went to radio shack and bought 4 replacement capacitors. (probably not the best quality, but didn't really want to wait and if it solved the problem then I could upgrade them at a later point and be happy with everything ) That being said, the issue persists.

I could have messed something up when soldering them.. but I don't think I did. I've attached some pictures below of the solder job, as well as some more pictures of the power board and the inverter.

This monitor doesn't look to have a single CCFL but instead...
