I tried . . .
Well, the good news is that I replaced the capacitors all by myself. The bad news is that I didnt know what I was doing, and I burned some of the board circuitry with the solder iron & shorted out some other areas with sloppy solder. Arghh!!! . . . I should have asked my techy son-in-law for help!! (I had no idea he was so smart!!) He was able to restore most of my damage, and the board does work & I have my oven & timers back . . . kinda . .
But not everything is working 100%, so I'm in the market for a new board after all. Darn!!
Good...

Re: Dim Clock LCD on Jenn-Air wall oven
Well, I tried it too -- went ahead and replaced all 4 of the caps --- and now nothing works. (Before, I could at least operate things with the buttons even tho I couldn't see what I was doing.) Who knows what I did wrong - it's my first time trying something like this (tho I am very handy). Maybe I injured the board somehow when I was putting it back together? I dunno.
But that said, I wouldn't have been happy replacing the board without trying - so I guess it's all part of the game. Only problem I had is I foolishly attempted...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Thanks for this forum! I've just ordered the capacitor set for my Jenn Air Range svd4860w - and am looking forward to getting my display working again. Hopefully it willl save me the $200 for a new display panel.
I especially appreciate the detailed instructions and great photos posted by 'WEBTALK" on 12/2010 (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7902&page=2)
I'm a woman - handled a solder gun just once -- but here goes !
Thanks again!Re: New Members...
