Re: Samsung plasma PL51F4500 shocking!
Well maybe i should get the ground in the socket verified. Who knows, maybe the electrician didn't do his job when wiring up the house or something has happened afterwards. We did loose a couple of led lights in a lightening strike a few months ago......

Re: Samsung plasma PL51F4500 shocking!
Just to complete my post above. For years the tv didnt zap me. So to me something has changed on the power board.
And even though the tv works fine, my concern is the fancy new tv stick that i just bought to plug into it! Surely, if the tv stick is receiving some sort of voltage on ground, that can't be good for it???

Re: Samsung plasma PL51F4500 shocking!
So i went over the grounds. Theres a bad habit down here to clip the earth pin on our plugs, simply because the vast majority of houses more than 20 years old don't have wiring for earth.
So i reinstated the earth pins. Checked the plug on the powerboard. All fine, all well screwed down etc. I even checked the earthing of the house.
No difference. If i touch the tv i still get a little zap. Isn't it strange that even with an earth it'll still zap me? I'd offer a lot more resistance than the earth does!

Samsung plasma PL51F4500 shocking!
Hi folks,
I have a Samsung plasma tv PL51F4500. It works fine, image is good, but it shocks me a little when i touch it or touch a connect hdmi cable. So my concern is mostly for anything i connect to it, my notebook etc. Interestingly, i had stopped using it and went to turn it on yesterday and it basically doesn't 'shock' me anymore. The observation here is that its a lot better than when it was in regular use. It was pretty salty!
This model has an integrated sustain board with the main power supply. I repaired it about 2 years ago (mosfets) but i may have missed...
