• Re: Samsung Syncmaster 245BW

I've tested the screen with another identical monitor's power supply and inverter assembly, and the screen has exactly the same problem.
So it's the screen itself which has a uniformity issue for brightness.
Does the logic board on the back of the screen(240CT01C2L) regulate the voltage on the screen surface?

Okay, I just replaced the screen, but the new one seems to be slightly darker at the top.
This effect isn't extremely strong, but it bothers me nonetheless.
I tried displaying solid (R,G,B) rectangles full screen and it does this with any color.
The previous screen (the now broken one) didn't have this issue.
Is there a way to fix this?

How about LTM240CT01-001 vs LTM240CT01-002 vs LTM240CT01-003,
does that make a difference?
Can you suggest a good source to buy this part alone?
Do any of you have a decent one for sale?
Or should I buy a used monitor instead, and swap the part?

Also, the sticker on the back says: LTM240CT01
Is this always the same part?

My Samsung 245B's screen (LTM240M2) is now slowly dying
after a drink was spilled on it

But it would seem several other monitors also use the same part:
-Dell 2407WFP
-HP LP2465
-Samsung 244T, 245T, 245BW and more
-BenQ FP241W (?)
-NEC LCD2470WNX (?)

My question is:
Can I just buy any of those monitors and swap the screen, or are there OTHER SPECIFICATIONS to consider?...

I disagree with your description/assumptions.
Everything is soldered, and very strongly so.
The resistors are overkill and nothing else was available quick enough.
They absolutely could not all be crammed at the original spot.
They had to be placed in other spots where there is room for them, hence the wires.
I only used tape for insulation of the stripped wire.
This will definitely hold for decades, I see nothing wrong with it, it's all in your head / ego.Re:...

Hey there!
I just fixed my samsung 245B just like you fixed yours!
and your photos, featuring the 5w resistors, convinced me to do the same!
So I want to thank you.
Do you find that these new resistors need some extra cooling?

Let me be the latest person to PRAISE you guys for this thread and your knowledge.
I've just spent a whopping $0.86 to buy three 5-Watt 68ohm resistors and my faulty 245B fired right up! WOOOT!!!!
And it only took about 2 hours!

Here's what my power board looked like after the repairs:...
