Re: Philips Pronto TSU-9800 schematics
Thanks, I'm fairly certain it has UART so will try that next, and will also take some decent pictures.

Oopsy, I posted the wrong model. It's a TSU-9600 I have.

Philips Pronto TSU-9600 schematics
I have a faulty professional remote control. There appears to be no life in it when connected to its battery. I have a service manual but it goes into almost no detail beyond pin layouts of the dock connector and how to disassemble it to replace the touchscreen unit. I am hoping someone has access to a full service manual with schematics and/or a boardview file.
My initial diagnosis finds no issues. Power is getting from the connected Li-Ion battery to the PCB. I can charge the battery okay via the PCB, it starts at about 700mA when flat and is trickling when the battery is over...

Re: Lenovo S145-14AST NM-C171 faulty RAM voltage rail
I have taken some readings. Pins 2 and 3 of PU1901, after unplugging the battery for ten minutes, both read 10K ohms approximately. I also checked other components in the path of these pins and all seem okay to me.
I reconnected the battery and powered it up (light is solid, not flashing). Pin 2 of PU1901 measures 0V, as do PR1921 and PR1920 it connects to. Pin 3 of PU1901 measures 0.67V, as do the connecting pin on PR1920, PC1935 and PJ1909.
I'm fairly sure when I measured these voltages last weekend,...

Lenovo S145-14AST NM-C171 faulty RAM voltage rail
I am attempting my first component-level board repair, on a:
FS44A&FS54A NM-C171
Rev:1.0
I have been diagnosing this board with the attached as a guide. Part PU1901, which I believe is a voltage regulator, has incorrect voltages of around 0.67V on pins 2 and 3. This is for RAM pins 257 and 259, I stopped looking after that for other components that use it. I think all the other voltages produced by this part are correct.
As I am a newbie, please can someone check that I'm correct in thinking that pins 2 and 3 should be outputting 2.5V and...

I don't suppose you have a boardview file for this motherboard as well?

This laptop has no useful labels or markings on the outside of the case, and the above is from the motherboard silkscreen. Is this enough to identify it? I'd be grateful for any schematics.

Re: lenovo nm-c171 S145-14AST S145-15AST
Unfortunately, the laptop is still not working. As before the power light comes on solid. This time, however, after about 30 seconds the heatsink fan starts and it didn't do that before re-flashing the BIOS. I will try to find an unused HDMI cable in my piles of cables so I can try the external output.
A thermal camera does not highlight anything that looks wrong either. I've probed all over the board and cannot find anything that seems wrong, but I don't yet have the schematics. Will go and request that now.

Re: lenovo nm-c171 S145-14AST S145-15AST
Apologies if I shouldn't post this here, I am a new member and cannot start a thread yet. I'm trying to fix a possibly corrupted BIOS but do not know the exact model I have here.
The Lenovo IdeaPad has no useful labels on it apart from 'AMD A4', so I'm going on motherboard silkscreen alone:
FS44A&FS54A NM-C171
Rev:1.0

The BIOS chip is a 8MB W25Q64FW 1.8v SOIC8 that reads okay in a T566 programmer, so I have the BIOS extracted. I downloaded 'aycn28ww.exe' from the S145-15AST...
