  • Re: Samsung PN51D440A5 No Picture But Has Sound

    tom66,

Yes this model has the x-main power coming from the y-main board. I unplugged the x-main power connector and found no change. Vs is still dropping low (16-19 volts) when tv is powered up. Any other thoughts?

  • Samsung PN51D440A5 No Picture But Has Sound

I have a Samsung PN51D440A5 plasma tv with no picture but still has sound. Initial troubleshooting found Vs on the power supply is getting dragged down to around 19 volts when it is connected to the y-sus, but raises to 208 volts when the y-sus connector is removed. This made me think the y-sus or x-sus is at fault. Also the light on the logic board is blinking slower than what I remember in the past from these units. With all other cables re-connected I found that the light on the logic board blinks faster if I disconnect the ribbon cable going from the logic board to the y-sus. My gut is telling...

  • Re: LG 50PJ350 Power Supply Repair

    Tom66,

Thanks for the quick reply. I went ahead and tied two 100 watt bulbs in series and ran them on the VS output for about 30 minutes. Bulbs were bright and the voltage held steady. Now on to the y-sus board.

    Thanks again.

  • LG 50PJ350 Power Supply Repair

    Hello All,

I've got a LG 50PJ350 plasma tv that I got cheap because the power supply would click constantly when plugged in, even with no other boards attached to it. After a few evenings of troubleshooting and component replacement "I think" I have it fixed because all voltages (VS, VA, M5V) are present and stable when plugged into AC only. However, when I connect the y-sustain board the clicking returns. I'm fairly certain that there is a problem with the VS line in the y-sustain board. Before I start troubleshooting it, I want to make sure the VS, VA, and M5V lines...
