Hey SMDFlea, I appreciate this post. You have helped me a lot in the past with your guides. I have a HP Pro x360 Fortis 11 inch G9, which I believe is the x360 Fortis 11 G9 model you tested in your post. I successfully ran the full script and reprogrammed my BIOS chip. Once I boot the device after reinstalling the BIOS chip, I am getting a popup and it is reverting my BIOS changes. The dialog says "The BIOS has recovered its identity data from the Embedded Controller due to data mismatch."

Do you have any advice here?

If you don't mind me asking how did you write DMI info in to the bin file without the board in front of you? I've tried looking through HxD for changes after I write in DMI but it still seems very obfuscated...

I have the clean TXE from SMDFlea flashed to my chip and I am getting "Access denied" returncode="6" on every value I'm trying to change as you can see in the attached screenshot...

I have flashed my HP ProBook x360 11 G1 EE with the clean bios and verified it is written correctly and device is now working.

I still have MPM locked and cannot make any changes to fill in my DMI info using NbDmiFit or BiosConfigUtility, and UUID is all F's but with hyphens. When using the UefiMpmUnlock.efi it says HP MPM protocol is not present and using the FSMC.bin on a FAT32 drive renamed to SMC.bin is not giving any pop-up when holding windows+up arrow+down arrow.

Am I doing something wrong? I could manually...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

I found this site when searching for BIOS changes and have used it to program a couple of BIOS SPI chips. Thanks for the great knowledgeable community!
