Vizio VX42L, single bad CAP causeing issues?
I recently came across a Vizio VX42L for free, and when I plug it in the logo on the from turns on to orange. When turning it on, the Vizio logo turns white and the TV screen will "blip" on just enough for the channel number to be seen. After that it just sits and you will only get that far if the TV has been sitting unplugged.
I took it apart and pulled the PSU after reading about bad caps on the PSU.
Of all the caps on the PSU, the only one I can find swollen is one thats right behind CN2 plug at the top:
It possible the one bad cap is...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hey guys,
Just found this place looking for info on possibly repairing a Vizio VX42L that I got for free.
It turns on for a second just enough to see the channel number, and then off.
If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated. Going to go check out the power supply now.
