Re: USB-C question
Thank you for the reply mon2.
Would the ammeter still turn on if I removed it from the motherboard and then plugged it into just the port? I removed the ammeter and just plugged the USB-c charging cable into the port and tried measuring the voltage on the pins. At one point I was getting about 3.3v on one of the pins but now have been unable to repeat that. Would you say that the port is bad? I will remove one that I know works and test that as well. Thanks for your help!

USB-C question
I have a motherboard that I am trying to repair. I have a know good USB-C charger with a light on it plugged into a USB-C ammeter. When I plug this cable combination into the board the light stays on the charger but the ammeter does not turn on.
Does that sound like the port is bad? Is there a way I can check the continuity on the port, or will that matter?
I posted this in the wrong forum. Can someone move this for me?

Re: Some help with troubleshooting a HP ProDesk 400 G2.5 SFF motherboard please
I checked pin 8 of the BIOS chip according to another video that I saw on YouTube and I get the continuity mode beep as well. I also checked the overall resistance and it is showing at around 4.1 ohms no matter where I check the 3.3V from. I will continue to check components.

Some help with troubleshooting a HP ProDesk 400 G2.5 SFF motherboard please
I am experiencing the following symptoms:
With the device fully assembled when I press the power button, nothing happens at all.
I pulled the power supply from the computer and stuck a paperclip into pins 16 and 17 on the connector causing the power supply to turn on and the fans to start spinning. All of the voltages checked out ok.
With the power supply outside of the case, I plugged it back into the motherboard and tested it again. No change. PC did not turn on.
I put my multimeter in continuity mode and put the black probe on one...

Re: MS-G013 schematics or board view please
UPDATE: The board is also labeled with MODENA REV:A . I have seen some sites mention that MS-G013 MODENA REV A as the part number to download a schematic for this motherboard.

MS-G013 schematics or board view please
I have several HP ProDesk G2.5 sff desktops that are perfect for running Chrome OS Flex on. The motherboard part number is MS-G013 ver. 1. I believe this motherboard is manufactured by MSI for HP. Any help in getting the schematic or board view files or both would be greatly appreciated.

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello everyone! My name is Bob_Crachet and I want to do some board level repair of Chromebooks. I am in charge of a fleet of 500 or so and I am already very comfortable with "pluck and chuck" repairs. I can take a Chromebook or an iPad apart and swap parts in and out but I have a growing stack of boards that are probably repairable, I just need to learn how.
