  • Re: Samsung t5064 plasma turning off and on

How do you know which ones to replace? Are there certain ones to replace or should I just replace them all?

Now the tv turns off and then it just cycles through a series of clicks as if it were going to turn on. Some times it clicks and the startup jingle is heard and the screen lights up. It may stay on for a minute or so and then it turns off and the cycle repeats itself.

Any ideas of where to begin would be appreciated. I would just buy a new power board but I don't want to end up with the same junk that is in the current board.

I'm sorry, I didn't explain it clearly - Once it is on, it turns off and then goes through a clicking cycle. If I unplug it, wait, and then plug it back in, it might be 5-10-15 minutes before it starts again. It has been happening more frequently as of late.

Here are some pictures I promised. I don't know if you can tell anything by looking at them....

My 50" samsung plasma keeps turning on and off randomly. I've researched the cause and all information suggests bad capacitors on the power board. I've taken the back off and I cannot see and popped or bulged capacitors. No leaking either. On one of the large capacitors the black plastic cap came off but it doesn't looked bulged at all. I understand that they don't have to be bulged or leaking to be bad. I will post up some photos if they will be of any help. My questions are

    1. If I choose to buy a new board, can I be reasonably assured that this will fix the on/off problem....
