Re: Macbook air 2015 (00165A motherboard) power issue
I re-balled the SMC and now all seems good.
I used 0.3mm solder balls to re-ball and it produced very neat results...much better than any stencils that I have used. It takes a while to place the 157 balls but was well worth it.
The laptop is still running a bit hot so suspect there is still a short somewhere...may invest in a IR camera to investigate further....any recommendations?

Macbook air 2015 (00165A motherboard) power issue
My Macbook air 2015 (00165A motherboard) has a strange fault.
When I plug in the charger the laptop immediately switches off.
The battery still charges when off and I can reboot the laptop with the charger connected and all appears fine until I disconnect then reconnect the charger and the problem appears.
Tried resetting PRAM/SMC and even changed the I/O board but problem appears to be on the motherboard so looking for ideas to fault find.

Re: Macbook Air A1466 SSD not recognised
Managed to get the board seeing the SSD by reflowing the SMD. Another issue cropped up but not sure if it is related to the SMD......the laptop will work off mains or battery and the battery will take a charge but if I plug in my mains charger while the laptop is on it immediately switches off.

Macbook Air A1466 SSD not recognised
My Macbook had suffered liquid damage and after cleaning up the board it won't recognise the SSD. I tried the SSD in another M
acbook and it is fine. I have done some troubleshooting and it looks like the SSD_RESET_L is permanently low. Any ideas where I can try looking next?

820-00165 no green light on the charger and no fan spin
I am troubleshooting a Macbook Air and the SMC posts a voltage of 8.2V at PPBUS_G3H.
Should I replace the SMC?
Macbook appears dead with no green light on the charger and no fan spin.
