SOLVED.
The problem was that I didn't put memory in my laptop.
After that I rebooted, followed the procedure (altought I didn't have a chance to do steps
STEP 4: Enter any character when asked for Supervisor Password
STEP 5: Press enter when it shows Hardware ID
STEP 6: Press space bar 2x when asked
As the system did it for myself???
I just pushed Enter & F1, rebooted a few times.
The last message was
0271: Check Date and Time Settings....

Thank you, unfortunately, it doesn't work.
After saving patched dump to BIOS chip, and booting (with all batteriess taken off and BIOS battery disconnected) with power cord only.
Memory is also taken off.
It beeps 1-3-3-1 beeps with black screen.
Then stays a while on (with black screen).
And shuts down.
For me pressing Enter or F1 it does not react.
I'm using CH341 black programmer (modded to 3.3 V by cutting a track on its back, tried writing...Last edited by sms_ok; 12-11-2022, 12:46 PM.

could you help me patch my T460?
I've read it with Colibri on Win & flashrom on Mac.

Hi, Thinkpad T460 here.
I didn't start to dump my BIOS chip yet (mxic mx25l12873f, SOP8 factor) to recover my supervisor pwd.
I've read all 100 pages of this thread.
The question is what programmer should I buy:
- TL866II Plus (~80 USD here)
- or CH341A (needs to be welded to mod 3.3V, problems with read/write using clips) ~10 USD here.
The budget is not the problem, but the guy from the shop told me that TL866II Plus using clips (I'm not a technical guy to unsolder/solder...

Hi, I'm from Ukraine.
I don't have electrical / engineering background, though for a couple of years I was a systems administrator of a network of ~20 desktops, dealing with hardware/software/LAN etc.
Now, a Python programmer.
As we have problems with electricity due to war,
I want to restore my Thinkpad T460 (forgot password),
I want to flash its BIOS with programmator (the only way to do it properly?)
before that I want to learn how to flash on a very old desktop...
