  • LG 50PG60 Plasma Botton Half of Screen Out

    This forum has been incredible helpful to me before, and I'm hoping you guys can give me some more advice and help me out again.

    I came across an LG 50PG60 50" plasma real cheap, and thought I'd take a gamble to see if I could get it up and running. The top 1/3 of the screen is crystal clear, and the botton 2/3 is black.

    All voltages check out from best I could tell, and a buddy who knows more than I do recommended I change out the Y-buffers. I bought them on ebay, and when I change them out, the entire screen lights up but is completely distorted and flashing...

  • LG 47LE5400 broken main board

    These forums have been so helpful to me recently, and I can't thank everyone enough, and now I have my own little problem that I can't find any answers on.

    So I bought this LG 47LE5400 damaged. The previous owner tripped over an HDMI cable that was plugged into it, and now none of the HDMI ports work. It was on a single side port, away from the other 3 HDMI ports on the board. It has obvious damage inside the port.

    My question is: is the board salvagable? Can the port be either replaced or disabled, making the other ports work?

    Bought a broken Vizio P42HDTV10A that was in mid-repair and decided to make a little project out of it. I've come across post on here about common problems with the tv, and I'm hoping I can get to the point where I can diagnose it, but first thing is first: When I took off the back panel, the first thing I noticed was that a couple of the caps were already missing.

    It is from the power board, # 3501Q00201A, and I've learned is used in several other models. It is the 2 large caps on on the right side of the power board, c169 and c170. I've come across pictures of the board that...
