Re: IPOS 150 REV 3.3 Board help
Updated my profile. I do appreciate the info and help offered here in the past. I just have run out of patience on DIY on this board. Thanks to all who have responded.

Re: IPOS 150 REV 3.3 Board help
Really all I was asking was is there someone here who can do a quotable repair on this board or if anyone knows of anyone who provides this service at flat rate.

IPOS 150 REV 3.3 Board help
OK, I had posted quite a few questions and pics here about repairing of a 32" Polaroid HDTV. Plugged in, all I get is a blinking light on the front lower right of front of TV, (no light lit on the P/S board, never got a definite response of what that means. Anyway, the power supply IPOS 150, REV 3.3, only has stand-by 5vdc after I did the multi cap job. I had no outputs off CON3 before cap job, so it helped something. Is there someone HERE who offers repair service at a quotable price. I have seen some ebay auctions that offer a kit of D10 and a 'wire' repair that says it will repair remainder...

Re: Memorex MLT3221 - No Power
If I had any indication of life in this thing, I'd probably continue on. I bought the capacitor kit at ebay and nothing but 5v. Then I saw another kit there that said..."if you bought the cap kit and only get 5v now, buy 'this' kit...for more money than the first one. I thought that was pretty funny...this thing could easily be a money pit. Nothing ventured nothing gained, but this venture has gone far enough. Thanks again.

Think I'm throwing in the towel, without a schematic this is just a shot in the dark. Thanks for all the help, much appreciated.

Re: Memorex MLT3221 - No Power
Well, I disconnected the CON3 plug to the board and I get the 5vdc solid as can be. The connector has other voltages listed but since the set is not turning on maybe that's the reason, anyway no other voltages present. ARGGGGGGGG! Maybe my power supply board was good all the time!

Re: Memorex MLT3221 - No Power
Thanks, I'll check it...can you tell me what transformer it is...where? I didn't know if I might damage anything ELSE if I unloaded the P/S and powered on. Again, anybody need any parts if this doesn't work out in the end...which might be soon approaching?

Re: Memorex MLT3221 - No Power
All the EC 's were replaced on this board except for the large one which was ruled out early on as the problem. Can I check the transformer windings with an ohm meter in circuit, AND is the possible shorted load on this same board or another one? I'll check pin 5 voltage again.

what should my voltage be? Earlier I reported 9-14vdc on this pin.Last edited by johnnieboy2; 11-01-2011, 08:51 AM.

Re: Memorex MLT3221 - No Power
Out of curiosity I tried this and it did not do anything to bring up any of my graphics programs. I use a free program MWSNAP3 to capture any screen area and it works great. I can save the snapshot and load it into my graphics program....

Re: Memorex MLT3221 - No Power
Well, after about an hour of careful soldering...looks like I got a 'trick' this Halloween night...seems to have changed nothing. No LED lit on P/S board, steady blinking lED on lower right front of TV, no 'noise' of any kind. Sort of disheartening, but I do appreciate your help and advice given...all caps replaced. I did have two 10uf @ 450v and a 10uf @ 50v caps left over from the kit I ordered, but no place on the board for them, curious, but I guess they applied to a different revision board.
You mentioned tertiary winding, where and...Last edited by johnnieboy2; 10-31-2011, 07:33 PM.

Hopefully my replacement caps will be in very soon. Thanks again PlainBill for hanging in there with me.

Re: Memorex MLT3221 - No Power
I had to take a nerve pill after I measured the voltages...do you know how many IC's I've blown trying to measure voltages on pins on IC's 3X that size...Whew!
Anyway:
resistance from hot ground to pin 1 of the SMPS controller (IC2) -zero
voltage from hot ground to pin1 = 0vdc
voltage from hot ground to pin2 = 0-5vdc
voltage from hot ground to pin3 = 0-2vdc
voltage from hot ground to pin4 = 0vdc
voltage from hot ground to pin5 = 9-14vdc
voltage from hot ground to pin6 = 0-.4vdc

[QUOTE=johnnieboy2;193033]I managed to get a pic of the IC in question, excuse the quality please. It's got a 'blue star' just below the IC, number is definitely correct...maybe a 'house' number...unless the '6' is a 'G'?Sorry for the triple post.Re: Memorex MLT3221 - No Power
