• Re: LG L196WTQ no power

Just to let people with the same problems know:

(I've read about similar problems on a polish site where the memory ic were corrupt, but that's to much hassle - so I caved in and just bought a used video controller card on ebay for a total of 13 dollars.
Works like a charm now!

And once again - thx everybody for all the help!

Resolderd the crystal and reflowed every ic and zd on logic board. Still nothing.
Hate this multilayer pcbs, can't really find my way from pin 109 to jumper 9 :/

At D713 / 712 and so on there is some fast 3 pin switching diods: http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/172132/ONSEMI/MMBD301LT1G.html
Gonna test them in circut with multimeter later.Re: LG L196WTQ no power<br /> <br /...'t really find

Looks like U701/U702 are eeproms: http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/245973/STMICROELECTRONICS/M24C02RMN6TP.html

The voltage regulators U901 and U902 - both reads ok (3.3v and 1.8v)

I also checked the voltage feed to the main chip: U501 pin 114 and 21 - Both ok (3.3v and 1.8v) so it's getting the voltage it needs to run I think.

u501 pin 109 (Gpid_p25 - INV ON (2) reads 3.3vRe: LG L196WTQ no power<br /> <br /...6TP.html

Hi.
- The cellbattery test was with the logicboard connected.

- "test with lvds lead unplugged at the logic board end": Don't know the term, but I did test to disconnect the "data cable" to see if I get power then (The big flat one that goes into the lcd - see picture): No difference.

- I tryed to take improved pictures of the logic board as per attachments. (Also somewhat fixed the badly installed cap )...

Hi.

I'm gratefull for every feedback possible. It's a cheap screen, but a good 2ms screen. I really want to keep it.

On psu:
Resolderd D102
Also diod testing gave beep on ZD101, but removing one pin and retesting proved it was alright.

I did another test: I took a 3v cell battery and connected it to gnd and the on pin at P201 (pin 9) and sure enough: The lcd backlight goes on perfectly and keeps on as long as the battery is connected. Nothing on screen and the poweron led is still dead even with computer...

Let me get a new picture:Logic board (ignore the badly installed cap )
The schematics from google as posted earlier.

checked u901 and u902 and get 3.3v and 1.8v on the output pins = ok

Hmm, do I smell main chip failure Re: LG L196WTQ no power

Thanks for quick reply.
With computer connected I get 0.79 V on that pin, I tested with stationary and laptop just to be sure. Had it connected through DVI if that matters.

Still nothing from power on LED or any flash on screen (Wasnt easy to set it up though )

Edit:
So if the PSU is ok, then the problem might be in video controller.
I googled and found the service manual:
video controller: http://tejpbit.se/temp/upload/Video_controller.png

started a topic LG L196WTQ no power

LG L196WTQ no power

LG L196WTQ Dead

It shows no sign of power.
No powerled and no backlight flash, as if there isn't any power connected at all.

It's been like this once before - Thanks to this site (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=17123 ) I recapped some bulging caps it and it worked wonders for 2 years.
Now it's back again: This time I recapped every single cap on PSU and video board, even the big cap. Sadly this didn't work.

So now I humbly request some help digging further into the problem

Tests so far:

• Re: imac G5 Celetronix P/N :614-0363

Hi. Thx for input.

I still havent got this thing to work. I don't really need it since I bought replacement from ebay, but would be fun to get it functional again.

Changed all caps expect the big one.
Changed octocoupler since it woudnt turn on (Didn't work either, but now I get a whopping 0.6v instead of 0.2 out )

Voltage in main cap with nothing as load: (standby?) 430v
Voltage across the smallest cap: 10v
Voltage across the output caps in end of card: 0v (After octocoupler...

Any1 got any luck repairing one of these units?
I got an celetronix app-22-lfm33, apple p/n 614-0363 that looks exactly the same as the unit mentioned at initial post.

It gives 0.2v out gray to black. 0.2v for brown to both gray and black. The unit also clicks alot.

This is what I've checked so far:
Ac in: ok
Fuse: ok
Diod rek: ok, getting around 320 dc out
The optocoppler at the end seems ok, but gonna have to soilder it off to make sure.
The caps *looks* alright, no boulding to...
