Nice to be back again after so long.
I have a problem with this model also even tried reheating the gpu and running bios crisis but to no avail.
So it means flashing the bios and EC might have a higher rate of success. Need to get RT809F flasher as what [B]moophus[/B] did.

try this link also too. maybe, you have done the same thing, accidentally punctured the temp sensor when you removed the NEC/Tokin caps..

It will depend with the problem or symptom you have right now.If the unit still boot yet shut off automatically you can add a smd to the vacant pads, try it 1-2 pc od capacitor. I've mentioned it at #31 at this thread it will guide you where to put it exactly.

Yeah! it also works for me but it varies among MSI CR or CX with the said problem. Example: If the laptop has a display and then auto-shutoff just before the OS starts it will work by putting additional smd cap to the vacant pads for smd....Leave a comment:

Before you do anything with the laptop did you reflow or reheat the nvidia gpu first? or when you replaced smd tantalum then what value was it? it will depend also if what value or kind of tantalum did you used.

Yup! It won't work because it has no power so you can't enter the bios recovery with crisis disk. It applies, not always but some aspire one with power but no display even you've done the usual stuff isolate memory stick and adapter.
You need to check the standby volts from power switch and also the bios, most likely it 's windbond....Leave a comment:

Have you tried reflowing the video chips? if so maybe the video chip was damage already or faulty even though you tried a minimal reheating sometimes the chips easily yield and broke and need reballing. I have the same problem with Compaq CQ40 when i tried to reheat or reflow it burst out a small led from the chips. Am not sure if someone out here already encountered this kind of scenario..Leave a comment:

you can view it in his #9 post what type of smd/tantalum capacitor did he used or you can google also the different type and manufacturer of tantalum with datasheet so you will know what value corresponds to the letter and numbers printed on top.
also you can try and look for defective mobo with tantalum for cannibalize..
