Re: mec 16xx dump with info block

    Hi!
I have a ThinkPad X270 with a bricked EC image after a bad flash under Windows, I have a svod4 programmer but I can't seem to be able to read the MEC1653, I tried using the 32-pin keyboard connector after taking out R182 but I still can't read it, is there any test points I can use to hook it up directly? I'm a bit confused after reading the whole thread...

    Thanks for reaching out!

It sadly didn't work, I verified the write a handful of times, lol
solid green light, no beeps, left it running for a good 10 minutes; I flashed back the clean ME version from an earlier post here and it boots fine but presents the same problem ...

Sorry for doubleposting, I couldn't find a way to edit...

I flashed an ME cleaned BIOS image to the laptop and it works as normal, even boots fine after reboots, but a full power off and power on makes the power button LED remain lit for three seconds and then shut down...

I waited up to 10 minutes just in case but it wouldn't come back up, I had to take out the CMOS battery and turn it on again, just to have the same issue after turning off the laptop if I left the CMOS battery plugged in

    I tried...

Yeah, you need to flash the original "locked" BIOS, otherwise it'll keep trying to run the unlocking program...

Thanks for the tool! It worked perfectly on a 3rd gen X1 Carbon.

just as a note for anyone having a 5 short, 5 short beep issue at least with this model after flashing the patch, you need to remove the system board and disconnect the CR2016 battery that sits on the other side of the board, reattach the ribbon cables and power it on, afterwards you can flash the stock BIOS back and reconnect the CMOS battery

Hi, can someone help me repair this BIOS? The laptop only blinks the power button three times but doesn't want to power on, no fan spin either, this seemingly happened after a BIOS flash over Windows Update...

    thanks!...
