  • LDO Voltage regulator? E7 AD1 marking

Hi guys, I have a sony soundbar which I am repairing. There is a sot-23-5 component with the markings E7 AD1. I have searched high and low and cannot find anything specific about it. I'm pretty sure it's an LDO voltage regulator, but I have no way of telling what the input and output voltages should be. Does anyone have any insight into what the markings on component relates to?

    Thanks guys

  • Hi, I have an NM-D231 board that has a 4ohm short on the 3v line. From what I can see it originates from the IT8227VG IC (UE1). If i replace this IC does it need reprogramming (as mentioned above), if so, is there an idiot's guide to do this?
it was my fault, i accidentally shorted an IC down by the battery connector whilst testing for voltages... any help is appreciated....

I'm also getting a 4ohm reading to ground on both sides of the caps and coils next to the CPU.... it's not looking good......

So that appears normal then. Is that with the IC removed?

I haven't taken mine off yet as I don't want to have to reball it if it isn't the issue!...

I also found the audio IC had gone pop.... seems to have arc'd to the bottom of the wifi board. I also get a lot of heat from a small IC marked DDN149, on the opposite side of the board to the CYPD5225 IC, but i can't find any info. No shorts found around the IC. It has 3.3v one side and 8v the other, not sure if it's up or down converting.

    Pics for reference

    Thanks for the quick replies!...

Has anyone got any further with this? I've got one that won't charge at all and the CYPD5225 IC is the only thing that gets warm. One cap at the bottom right reads 8.5ohm at the top nearest the IC, and 0.2 ohm at the bottom (assuming ground). See attached pic

Any help is greatly appreciated, never worked on one of these before!

  • Help with iPad A2602 and A2270 digitiser issues

Hi guys, I have 2 ipads with the same issue. Both suffer from severe ghost touches, I have tried several different digitisers and checked the connectors. But what they seem to have in common is that the the pins on the bottom half of the socket on the MB are all short to ground.
Now, I can't tell if that's normal as I have searched high and low for a boardview or at least a schematic but I keep coming up empty. Anyone here have any experience with this? Or even better, a link to some technical information?
I'm at my wits end after several days of searching with no joy!

  • Lenovo GS452/GS552/GS752 NM-C781 pulsing power led

Hi guys, I have searched for this particular issue for the NM-C781 board but all I could find were schematic and bios requests, so apologies if this has been asked before.

I've got the above board from a friend, it appears to charge ok but as soon as you press the power button, the LED's on the side and on the button itself just flashes. I have checked around the board, there are some low resistance values to ground on some of the coils, mosfets and capacitors but they are not dead shorts (3.7 to 5 ohms) so im not sure if that normal.

I was wondering if anyone else...

Sorry I figured it out, the files required the standard version not the pro!...

I seem to get an error message when trying to open the files in PADS pro browser.
    Error reads
    Unable to load design (C:\users\xxxxx\Downloads\iphone6-4.7\Layout\LayoutDB.lyt)
The layout file is missing - it has the '.lyt' extension.

I'm sure it's user error on my part but I have never used this particular viewer before....

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hi Everyone, my name is Andy and, as my username suggests I'm pretty new to this!
I have been interested in electrical and electronics from a very young age, when my dad handed me a soldering iron at 6 with some leaded solder and thick brown flux. I now work in telecoms but I have been repairing games consoles, phones tables, electronic dartboards, pretty much anything really! It's just a hobby that has almost become a second job (much to the girlfriends disapproval!) and has also taken over my dining room!
