Re: Panasonic, no flashing red lights but won't power on
Heh heh, maybe that’s why it isn’t working
Can’t get a main board from anywhere at the moment, is it the chip that’s likely to have gone do you think?

Panasonic, no flashing red lights but won’t power on
Hi, just wanted to see if anyone can help a little with this tv.
I bought a Panasonic tx-p50u30b a little while back I knew to be faulty and finally got round to stripping it.
Upon startup the the green power light comes on as normal and the relay clicks as though it's about to produce an image, however, nothing happens and around 40 secs or so later the relay clicks again as if it's trying to turn it on.
There are no lights flashing to diagnose just the solid green light.
Now I stripped the back off and measured the volts coming in to the standby on the power board,...

Thank you for all your help Tom, as much as I'm upset about the overall verdict I really appreciate the time you've taken to help. Thank you!

Re: Lg 60pk790 no picture
On reflection, when trying to fix the problem someone advised to update the software so I plugged the usb in but obviously couldn't see what it was doing. Could this have made the problem worse?

Re: Lg 60pk790 no picture
Here's the results. Few lines but they go, however the solid line stays. What does this mean Tom?
Cheers for replying....

Re: Lg 60pk790 no picture
Tried to take a picture but wasn't very good.
The TV is a constant dull white not fuzzy, that's just what the camera picked up. It's also the full screen without any black patches....

Re: Lg 60pk790 no picture
Forgot to add that, the bluray player will automatically switch the tv on and choose the right hdmi channel, or at least I presume it does, I've cycled through the other av channels and tried turning the tv up but no sound on any.
Cheers

Lg 60pk790 no picture
Hi all, needing a little help if possible please.
I've got an LG 60PK790 tv which has lost its picture and sound. When you turn the tv on everything acts as normal, the red standby light turns to blue, the screen flickers 'very dim' but looks like it's about to come on but that's it! If you press any button on the remote the blue led light responds as normal. If you turn all the lights off you can see the screen very dimly lit.
So far I've, replaced the 3 main resistors R927, R928 and R929 on the power board which is an EAX61300501. I did this before checking the...

Re: 50" samsung plasma ysus problems
No it was the main chip on the YSUS board itself, the upper buffer chip 2nd from the the top looks damaged also. However the board which I orginally took out looks to have no damage whatsoever

Re: 50" samsung plasma ysus problems
Hi Sorry for the late reply I was away for a few days.
To answer Tom's questions, the Volts going to the fuse nearest to the power in connection registers at 240v either side even when the control board is clicking on and off 'normal', the fuse mounted roughly in the middle of the power board is measuring 122v at one end and 124v at the other, of course they go down to 0v when the control board clicks off. This doesn't sound like the right amount of Volts to me Tom, if this is the case I have a power supply I could use for...

Hi Tom, yeah the working board popped when I put it into the tv I'm repairing. I'll check the volts when I get in later

50" samsung plasma ysus problems
Hi All, yet again i'm back asking for some of your wisdom
I've 2 PS-50Q97HD tv's 1 for spares and the other to repair
The tv i'm repairing only had sound no pictures so I initially thought it was the y board, upon checking the board I noticed the fuse had popped on the y board itself, so I replaced the fuse and switched the tv back on.. now the tv does the usual Samsung clicking noise from the logic board not wanting to fire it up so I removed the fuse and the tv started up again but no picture obviously.
I then removed the y board and the up &...
