Your device sounds nice. I have a CS spray in case of things turn bad, but it's not a perfect solution, it takes time to start burning, and it could burn yourself too. But it's better than nothing

That was my concern at first, that's why I prefer to play a growling sound instead of barking. Growling won't sound too obvious it's fake if it comes from only one place, because a dog growling generally doesnt move. Whereas it's not the case with a barking dog.
Anyway it's not really a problem since in a van sounds resonate so we won't really know where the sound comes from.
Plus thieves will get afraid I think and will go away without trying to analyse everything.

it says 4 buttons but you can surely add more cables to handle more buttons. But for my use it's more than enough

I just found this stuff, very cheap, it plays a saved mp3 when you push the button. Perfecto
Could you please tell me if I can remove the built-in speaker (in case the sound is not very good quality) and replace it by another one, for example a car speaker? don't know if the voltage/current will be enough, maybe another speaker that needs less energy ?

thanks, I won't be able to use this unfortunately, don't have the knowledge to integrate it in an electronic circuit.

haha, nice idea but I can't take a dog with me, not enough space plus too much hassle to take care of on the road

How to build this little device please for my campervan security

Hi,

You will probably find this funny, and it is, but it's also a project I'd like to take seriously.
I have a campervan and I'd like to avoid thieves to break in it when I am inside it or not.
For this purpose I imagined a simple device that can play a sound based on a vibration detection (in case of intrusion attempt) or by pushing a button manually.

The sound wil be a growling dog, which will deter any thief, thinking there is a big dog inside the van
This sound can be manually triggered by me if I'm inside the van, or played automatically...

Hi @lotas it's me alfonzzo I created a new account since I can't access the other one anymore. I received the usb drive and made the test, following your instructions, but unfortunatly the tv keeps restarting over and over again
I guess there is nothing more to do, apart from unsoldering the chip and replacing it by another one and reprogramming it.Which I won't be able to do so I'll just trash the tv...
