The other thing I noticed about my TV is I must have the first revision of the power supply. Mine says AYL400201 Rev 1.0 2009 09 18 3BS0009014. The white sticker on the heat sink says RE46AY2500-20090929 and it is manufactured by AOYUAN.

Well my tv was working pretty good again up until about this past saturday. Now it has pretty much been not working since (like 5 days) except I was able to get it to work twice (late saturday night and then again shortly after I took it apart on monday) out of probably 100 tries.

I went for the option to replace the tcon board as I also noticed that samsung tv's using the same/similar tcon board also had many complaints of very similar symptoms. It was fairly simple to get at (need to unscrew the 8 screws of the power...

Well that could be possible and does make sense (about the over heating). I would estimate that I have the tv on for about 5 hours per day (on average - some days are longer obviously and some days are much shorter). That would put my use at about 1825 (for a year but now I have had this tv for about 425 days which would put me at 2125). So if statistically cheap capacitors tend to die at about 2000 hours then I would say between June and Now I was in that range.

Well an update to this post.... this morning I turned my tv on and it was turning off again. I did this about 4-5 times over a 2-3 min period same result. I then vacuumed my living room and tried it again and now the tv is on. Not as bad as yesterday but still frustrating that its doing this now for the first time 2 days in a row.

One thing to note about my tv, once its on for more than a few seconds, it has never turned off on its own. And this activity happens from a cold start (its not even hot where I live now) so...

Hey Guys thanks for the info on this tv its good to know other people are having similar problems. I also have the 40LD45Q 40" Proscan 1080P that I bought at the end of July, 2010.

Let me tell you about my "EXPERIENCES" with this tv. In *GENERAL* it has been a good tv. Mine worked flawlessly up until about June of 2011 (so about 10-11 months) and then one day I turned the tv on and it shut off on its own.
