you just use a flat device and dont scrath but it snaps off by prying cover off start from side you took screws off you probably will butchar it up and scratch the hell out of the sides unless you are super carefull or use a thin putty knife but you can get it apart then you need a socket wrench with extention to get the castle nut off the stand and the stand snaps off the stand then the WHOLE lcd comes off as one piece.. after the CASTLE nut comes off just pry the washers off once you get the castle nut off.....

Its almost never the LCD that goes bad its the inverter pcb or the florecent tubes unless there are chunks on screen then its the other board or DAMAGE..

It is a Pain to get into the tv I used a small little monkey rench i got from a grab box in 197? when i was kid never thought i needed it untill LCD came out..
I also used a socket wrench with extention to tighten it and ran finger around the plastic post thinking about assembly line like yea i dont even work there but have to assemble the same way!!!! pissed me off being forced to run my finger a certian way to get castle nut on.....

I dont want to offend anyone..
I cant figure out why the 470uF caps witch fixed my sceptre wlg22 inch gamer inverter would not fix the poloroid one anyway when i replace the 1000uF caps ill look at the transistors.. if its just the inverter pcb if i replace all components it will come back..

I would agree its probably the switching transistors in the inverter pcb..
ok the rest of this post is not reply to the quote but opinion ..
Also always use higher voltage caps when replacing them .
As proof of this i had a computer I bought from the HAMVENTION(r) in
DAYTON OHIO it was a pII pcb with a super PUNY 150W power supply talk about small form factor it was a wantabee video machine seemed like a cool idea then but was to small for its time.
anyway I upgraded to a 1000Mhz p III witch worked fine...
